The E-MU Xtreme Lead-1 is a slimmed down version of the Proteus 2000. The polyphony was reduced to 64 voices, the MIDI channels to 16, only 2 audio outputs and no digital output. With the Turbo upgrade kit, you can bring it up to the original Proteus 2000 specifications. There’s also an official turbo version, the XL-1 Turbo module.
The Xtreme Lead-1 introduces the new SuperBEATS mode, which allows you to trigger, latch and unlatch synced loops and grooves from separate keys on your keyboard. It comes standard with the X-LEAD sound ROM.
