E-MU PROTEUS/2: Orchestral

E-MU Proteus 2 Sound Module
The E-MU Proteus/2 sound module is based on the same technical characteristics of its predecessor, Proteus/1, but with different waveforms. It concentrates on purely orchestral sounds with a wide range of solo strings, woodwinds, classical brass, orchestral percussion and more.

Based on the excellent EIII sound library, the Proteus/2 module is extremely capable of realistic orchestral emulations. It was heavily used for classical studio music compositions and film scores by composers like Mark Snow (the famous whistle sound used in the X-Files theme, Patch #125 “Whistl’n Joe”) and Eric Serra (the popular low octave sound effect used in the 1995 GoldenEye film score, Patch #86 “Infinite One”).

Preset Library
E-MU also created additional presets for the Proteus/2 in SysEx format and delivered on floppy disks. Each volume consisted of a bank with 64 presets.

3103 – Proteus 2 Preset Library Vol. 1: Orchestral Hitz
3103.2 – Proteus 2 Preset Library Vol. 2: Orchestral Moods
3105 – Proteus 2 Preset Library Vol. 3: Bash
